The definition of a stay-cation is: a holiday spent in a home or hotel that involves day trips to local attractions.

I've often had the privilege of being invited to stay with friends either here in Australia or overseas, providing me an experience I would not otherwise have if I was on a tour. These homestays provide the ability to experience the unique qualities of a city or town and its local environment  through the eyes of a local person.

My homestay adventures are dear to me because when friends or acquaintances open their home to me, they are sharing their families, friends, and their part of the world with me; just for a short time. I've had the most amazing homestays with some of the nicest people and I want to share my experiences with you.  I will not, however, share any personal information about the people  or places in these stories. They will remain anonymous, and the locations shall remain generic.
